Planned, organized and directed the completion of the first ‘Women in Music’ event in Cairo, for SceneNoise, in collaboration with Little Pink Book, Takwene and Yellow Tape for Feb 19, 2025.
‘Women in Music’ event in Cairo is a first-of-its-kind intimate gathering that brought together some of Egypt’s top female artists and industry professionals to break barriers, as well as connect, inspire and celebrate the women shaping the region’s music industry today.
The night kicked off with thought-provoking talks on the rooftop, starting with an industry-focused panel discussion with Nalan Al Sarraj (Head of Digital Marketing & PR, Beetroot Records), Daliah Galal (Founder & CEO of Carousel), Babel Sadek (A&R Manager at Sony Music Publishing and Reem Tarek (Content Promotions and Acquisition Lead at Anghami), moderated by Habiba El Sayed (Content Marketing Takwene). The panelists dissected the management-artists dynamics, providing independent artists with key qualities they should look for in record deals and managers and insights on how to leverage streaming platforms to maximize their reach.
Following suit was an artists-focused panel discussion moderated by Munky, with Maii Waleed, Perrie, Blu Fiefer, Dina El Wedidi and Wave. The spotlight was on the artists who are pushing the envelope of the MENA’s music scene; panellists shared their key strategies for growing their careers and pushing their music to global prominence.
After the talks, the packed crowd was treated to a series of stunning unplugged performances from Maii Waleed, Ma-Beyn and Donia Wael, followed by some mosh-pit-inducing rap bangers, courtesy of Wave and Uyuh, before Yellow Tape’s very own Mira closed the night with some minimal house grooves.
